August 2012

August 2012

Just like July; August has come and gone in a bit of a blur. Thankfully however being so busy has taking my mine off the heart-breaking news about Wiz – who is now happily grazing at home.

I spent 2 weeks House sitting for a small event yard which was great – I even managed a catch ride around the Novice BE at Shelford Horse Trials (Report coming to News pages soon). Following this I also had been grooming for the same yard at the Pony Club Champs which took place in the beautiful grounds of Cholmondeley Castle, also Shelford & Milton Keynes BE events. I had a fabulous time although I must confess competing is far more fun!

As well as this I have been really busy with the local Pony Clubs teaching at rallies and freelance. It has been so rewarding and fulfilling to see the riders and ponies progress so much in a short space of time.

Though with- out any horses it looks like my season could be over before it really got going. I plan to use this time to get in more training and of course start horse shopping … the only problem is my taste and my budget doesn’t go together. Syndicate?!

Of course the month ended with the Burghley Horse Trials taking place just up the road. Impressively I managed to go all 4 days and not spent too much! It was a fabulous result although I was rooting for Sinead Halpin to win – what a XC performance!

Hopefully September will unfold some exciting news – keep an eye out ….
